I am one of you

Hi Anna,

Thank you so very much for sharing your story. My feelings are of great empathy for you and for myself. I have blocked him on all Social Media except one which he was not on, WhatsUp. He created a profile and literally just text me he is buying alcohol because he knows I was verbally, mentally and physically abused by my children's father for 17 years whom I never married. In and out of courts including domestic violence, I too fear my pattern needs to stop. I literally did not date for 11 years as this pattern just seemed to continue.

I just need to stop, think and heal myself. I have wasted enough time on being empathetic with these men who need all the help they can get, but I have finally admitted to myself I cannot save this one's soul. What a challenge it has been I must say. I also begin my Masters soon and will have no time for such drama and nonsense.

I did spend time, money and energy to obtain a VISA and everything to get to him. After re-reading this site, I saved my soul instead of wasting time on saving his. I also to have had counseling for years and my counselor stated to me "why would you want to go back to this life"? I finally accepted I deserve better and am now grateful for my life and my two boys. I have never married and have no desire. I am independent and do not understand why these narcissistic men seem to be attracted to me other than my empathy factor.

So here is to supporting one another and developing a stable foundation and continuing our education for yet more independence and freedom from this unacceptable behavior that is so undeserving as a human being. Thanks again for this site and many of you sharing your thoughts. Blessed!
