There's no question he would have left you or perhaps he was already married and would have left you and brought his "real" wife and family over at your expense.

Be assured you made the right call. I know you probably feel really taken advantage of, so it may be small consolation, but people have given out in some cases much more than 8000 USD to these scammers and been involved longer.

Also, I think that every story posted on here helps, so thanks for sharing. And be assured of support and please post as often as you need to.
