Cutting it off with MENA men is like trying to stick to a diet or quit smoking - very hard

Thank you so much Dierdre, Bazoonga, Sheila, and Jackie. Jackie - his name is Hamid and I hope this IS the same guy so that I can forget him forever because I did slide back since I submitted my post. It is so frustrating that my head and my heart are not in sync. On the one hand, I tell myself, this is a scam - and I have a written list illustrating why it is and my family and friends are also giving me good reasons for why it is. On the other hand, my heart just melts and I forget everything when he contacts me, which he did through WhatsApp recently. I did not think he had my number but apparently he did or he got it from a mutual friend. Suddenly after 2 weeks of no contact, the calls and texts started coming in fast.

Since I submitted my story, my Moroccan man put up a picture of me and him as his profile picture on Facebook and a different picture of us as his profile picture on WhatsApp. I found this out through mutual friends since I blocked him on FB. Looking at his profile photos of us was when I caved in. (My sister texted me, "In his How to Book: Chapter 7 - What to do when your lies have been discovered and nothing else works") This seemed to be his way of telling the world we are together and telling me there is no other woman (since I previously accused him of this). I contacted him on WhatsApp and asked about the profile pictures, which started hours of texting and both of us crying via video. He said so many predictable, manipulative things - My mother is so sad for me, she doesn't know what happened to us, my family misses you, I hate my life, I'm going to kill myself, etc. I know, I know. I need to end it. So why don't I? What's my problem? I am a mess!

I need to be strong and block him on WhatsApp. I need to continue to review my list of reasons why this is a scam and I need to keep reading the stories on line - the most important one being my own.
