I did not end up going to Algeria, I had my visa ready and flight but last minute I changed my mind, with help from my friends and family, not wanting to leave my cat and a sudden rush of sense.
I'm sorry I can't advice you about that but I can advice you to think about how big a decision and commitment these types of relationships are. Also read this site and see if any alarm bells ring through noting similarities.
