Jacki, a lot of the time it's really hard to tell what a mena man's true intentions are... and even if they happen to be savoury it doesn't necessarily mean the relationship will sail smoothly.

There's culture, there's religion... in the beginning it's all exciting but once you're settled and refusing to let you out the house, that's when the differences kick in.

I can see how you would've fallen for this man... a lot of the time we see them as an escape from our everyday lives. And unlike many European men they're usually more "protective" and chivalrous. Sometimes that can be smoke and mirrors. Anyway, put things into perspective and ask yourself why you're drawn to men from hundreds of miles away, that can't fully provide for you.

As for Algeria, if anything just see it as a holiday. If you tell everyone - including yourself - that you're travelling to see a man you will be taken advantage off, and you'll also feel awful.
