Excellent and so very true

Being an independent woman all through life meant such freedom to me knowing that I would not take any mistreatment from a man. I would just simply leave. The MENA man I had fooled me into believing we had the same belief system. That is a falsehood. Once they hook you....they own you as a possession to be used and to serve their every little need. That ain't happening with me. I am at fault for not doing my research before taking the leap, however I was made to believe that it was different from the way it actually is.

Surely there are some good ones, however today they will use you with no problem to gain entry to your country. I am so glad it took awhile so I could truly see that it would have been a terrible mis-match for him as well as for myself. Life would have been miserable.

American women who have been independent business women WILL NOT put up with raising a baby coward that is supposed to be a MAN. I also had to think of my family, friends, country and what I was bringing around them. At the time it was a hard decision but it was the best for all concerned that I stop all proceedings.

I am so happy now to be free of his influence and free to live life as I please. I wish I had found this page before, however I do not regret going to see the Holy Sites for that I can say it was worth it. Now I just view it as a vacation paid for by him. I feel nothing for him. Nothing. No good ... no bad...just nothing.

It is the desperation now and I understand that so I am able to forgive all. I did not notice a middle class while in the Mid East country I was in. The culture was such as you were either rich or very poor. Nothing in between.

I can't imagine what life would have been like for me....having to cater to a man....cook....clean...wash clothes and pamper them. Not going to happen. But he almost had me. Lying in that culture is ok but NOT with me. That is what killed the relationship and for him and for his welfare....it was better for him to stay put.

Life is great again. I am so free and blessed and I know it better now and appreciate the freedom. I take nothing for granted. It has opened my eyes to the blessings I have. I have a new "friend" in my life that does not push nor does he expect anything from me. It is a good thing.

It is what it is and the cultures are so different....one can not help what they were raised to believe. It simply was not for me. I stick to my own now and I don't care if he finds another from his own kind.
