Insecure

Jessica, your posts scream insecurity. Don't take it the wrong way we've all been there. Listen we're all on here for the same reason... we've either been or are currently in a doubtful relationship with a Muslim man. There's no one to impress on here, we're all far too emotionally deflated from all the cr*p we've been through. Calling us all lunatics only further proves my point.

I'm not saying these men can't grow to love you... in fact sometimes what starts out as a "convenience" relationship does grow into something more substantial. And sometimes the resulting children grow up free to choose their faith. But you need to remember these people are quite poor, or if they're not poor they're ambitious or just wanna get the hell out their country. And a lot of the time they - even the educated ones - see us as an opportunity to better their lives. Some of them will take off as soon as they get what they want... these men have an end goal and had no intention of sticking around. But like I said others are just desperate and seek a better life. And can even grow to like their "saviour".

What I'm saying is these relationships can work but they take a lot of effort, and some of the lengths women go to... when there's eligible men from their own countries ready to date them... is just so pointless... and sad... to waste their lives on false hope..

These men are not raised on unconditional love. Their belief system is very black and white, while we are taught to forgive and to love without expecting anything. You will notice these differences when you're together. Arranged marriages for example are not about love, they're mainly about honour and finances. Love doesn't enter the picture and these men don't get the chance to see it from their own parents. It's about what benefits the family.

You can kill someone over here and your mum will support you... meanwhile over there, one slip up and you might find yourself buried in a back garden.

Anyway, I truly believe you're not sure about your Mo which is why you are here. Something's bothering you. The sooner you face up to it the better.
