I can speak for myself...

I can't speak for anyone else. I met my husband and didn't know he was Muslim. I learned that after meeting him. I did extensive research on the religion (still am honestly) and my husband has never once pushed his religion on me at all.

I didn't specifically go out looking for a Muslim man, I didn't even want a husband. It was just something that happened.

I do think that a lot of people here have put it well that the mystery is attractive. Or perhaps it's because the actual scammers are usually good looking, sweet talking and telling the women what they know they want to hear. The women are desperate, or needy, or lonely and so they fall for it even though I think most of them who are being scammed - ALREADY know they are.
