One way to look at it...

Well Dinckydoo, I can only speak for myself, but as far as I am concerned, you do not fall in love with a man because of his religious belief....

As you said - it does not really matter what his ethnicity or religion is, what matters is if you want to build a relationship with someone who belongs to a different community/culture then you need to accept and respect that mutually.

In my scenario I fell in love with a Muslim man (an Egyptian) for a number of reasons: his exotic look, his adorable body (I felt like I could "eat him up"), his voice, his kindness, his smartness (but at the same time his naivety too), his determination, his laugh, the intimidating way he always looked at me, the way he kissed me, the Earth-moving passion we had between us, the way he talked to me, some deep conversations we had that showed me the real Mo (that was his name), and so on....

I am not sure in what extent this had anything to do with the fact that he was a Muslim, but probably not very much. Perhaps just the fact that he was brought up in a different culture/country, hence he saw things differently. That is how we all learn from each other I think.

Even though he is gone now (probably will never see him again) and smashed my heart into tiny splintered pieces, deep down in my heart I will always love him, and he will never find out what he missed.

So I guess the final conclusion is that life does produce foolish things (with or without religion), and sometimes you just cannot find any logical explanation on what and why is happening - and perhaps it is best to leave it like that...
