Dear Ruth,

I just want to share my knowledge and opinion with you about this matter. When this guy says he will allow his children (daughters) to be raised Christian, he is not being genuine with you. He is a liar! Of course he would say, he has a comfortable life in Morocco and that he doesn't need to relocate. He doesn't want to be detected. Waiting four years to discuss marriage just this year isn't a reason enough to trust him.

Here is what you need to consider Ruth, consider you yourself living there in his country with him. When you have thought about it and you researched it then explain to him that whether you marry him or you marry another, you will never file American papers for any man. Ask him, are you happy with that? Are you ok with me marrying you and living in your country with you and I will never file any papers for you! If he says yes, which he will just to keep up the act, then ask him if he will be able to sign papers or promise to the imam (the priest) who will marry you that this promise is part of your meher (rights, dowry). Just as Muslim men do for Muslim women by Muslim law, they buy them gold or they give them money whatever a

mount the girl finds reasonable and worthy. A normal middle class girl would say I want 5000-15000 dollars from him. Whether in gold or in cash it is hers by law. Tell him the amount of money and the signing of the papers are all the terms and condition. The minute he stresses you about it during the relationship, you can call the same imam and remind him this was his promise and your rights. End of story.
