This was my mistake. I knew nothing going down immigration road.

I was told it would be just 2 only 2 months. I did not know going in that this would be a lengthy costly experience.

I guess my attorney thought I knew. He was taking me slow. I paid him fully..... However I found out that it takes at least 6 months for the I 130 to be approved. Then another year and a half later. ..boom.... I find out through research that it does not stop there.

I would hate to see anyone go through this stress.

Before I went over I was told over and over he did not want to come to USA. LIE. he had applied for the lottery. Proof he wanted to come. Also they know that this is a long wait.

During this long wait for me....I found him cheating online behind my back.

How in the world could he sleep at night? He knew I was locked in. But I pulled my affidavits of support just in time to block the visa.

I read so many stories of people being scammed through marriage.

During the wait time however I had cognitive dissonance.... Confusion and denial.

I would not wish this torment in anyone. Trust was shattered and finally I came to my senses and said no.

I did not sign up for this when I went over to be with him. Things he left out of his conversation of sweet nothings is the dangers of their culture to an unknowing USA woman.

I suffered shock and emotional trauma after doing research after the fact.

It is true that it is hard for them to get a visa to the US. Now even harder than 4 years ago. They have to have a job and a certain pay scale ensuring that they will return to their country.

I am hoping every woman who is involved in these situations will do their research beforehand. I did not. I gave my trust freely. I saw him only as a man and was stupid enough to believe all the things he said.

I had been watched in FB and profiled as a perfect target. He knew just what to say.

I had suffered some hurts in life and posted feelings to FB. Mistake to do that.

After I went over I learned the scary truth. I was blessed to be able to leave. My passport could have been held and I would have had no help.

I share this in the hope that Ruth and others would carefully consider and research what they are getting into beforehand
