Run, Ruth!! RUN!!!!!

Some of us here have met with these MENA men, some even married them and we got scammed. You have not met this guy all these 4 years and you are discussing marriage plans??

They have a way of making us believe we are the ONLY one. But trust me, we are not. They "introduce" their family to us only to trick us into believing they are sincere. His family was very warm and very lovely people who welcomed me with open arms. His mom cooked and baked for me. And we spend the Eid together those 2 years. I felt really accepted. But his brother (at least) knew exactly what he was/had been doing all these years - scamming women, i.e.

It wasn't until almost 2 years and despite me pendelling between here and there every month or so and staying for up to 2 months sometimes, that I found out that he had not only cheated me of a huge sum of money (40K to be exact), he had been messaging and e-mailing at least 4 other women - IN BETWEEN our chats our phone calls. I checked his computer browser, found those love e-mails. He had also borrowed a phone from me when he threw his on the floor after I had questioned him about my suspicions but had forgotten to delete the phone and chat logs when he returned it to me. I compared the times of the messages, e-mails, phone calls to these women and those times he and I had communicated. And it really was WHILE we were communicating that he had at the same time communicated with them!! Even when I was over there at the beginning of the year.

They are going to be SO considerate ("are you sure you don't need it more than I"?) - when they indirectly ask you for financial help. And everything is for "OUR" future. And no, "I don't want to leave Morocco. I love my country." And later on, when caught cheating, the excuse was totally opposite: "I need to get out of this shithole of a country and all the mf-ing hypocrites here. I only slept with her because I wanted her to marry me and help me get out of the country. But it is you I love." *eye roll*.
I made it clear from the start that marriage wasn't for me. But he tried anyway to persuade me saying all the fights we had (over his cheating) was because we were not married. "WE" needed the marriage to strengthen the bond between us. BS!! We exchanged rings. A year later, he was telling everyone how best it was to be single. So I gave him back my ring. We reconciled and guess what? The ring was nowhere to be found. He said I left it there, so it was my fault it went missing. I had left it on our bedside table in our bedroom. He is still contacting me asking me if I would still want to marry him and if I still love him. LOL!

DON'T BUY ANY OF THEIR BULLSHIT!!!!

I could go on forever about the Oscar-meriting award they deserve but Marissa, Neptune and Luigi have summed it up more or less.

He has no work which means no income & he wants to "build a future" with you in USA. With whose money, then? WHAT does that tell you???? It wasn't a right move to confide in him your fears of being scammed. Now he knows you are aware and he will work around that.

By the way, there is a growing tension and many protests going on in Rif and Al-Hoceima (north of Morocco) which they are hoping will not escalate and spread to middle or southern Morocco. So, if you are thinking of going there. Be warned.

This won't be easy on you - having communicated with him 4 years and I'm sure pretty intensely. But trust me, it is easier this way, then if you had met him and spent a life with him as a couple. I'm still recovering from my shock. Mine was such a lovely person until I caught on with his lies and when there were all the proofs there, I stopped paying for everything and he knew it was hopeless - doesn't mean he didn't try to continue to scam me. That's the most audacious part of it all! And then the mask fell completely and he did not even bother to hide his ugly intentions.

Bear in mind, he has to try the same thing with all the women he is targetting in order to "land" one who is foolish enough to fall for it. DON'T BE THE ONE, Ruth. Please. RUN now before your life is shattered and you're financially ruined!
