Ruth, this is the same story played over again and again. These men are desperate to leave their countries and will do anything in order to do so.

Anyway hope you're all well. I've been away in Egypt for the past few weeks - boy do those men lay it on thick! Especially what with tourism drying up! Had guys asking to marry me within 3 days of knowing me LOL. Still, these men are living in dire conditions... and I'm not saying this excuses their behaviour but... what I mean is we need to look at who else is to blame for women choosing these men to begin with.

Perhaps if the men from our own countries were more attentive... if our friends and families were more supportive... if our communities were friendlier and didn't exclude us or create general dysfunction... we wouldn't feel the urge to fall in love with men living in a completely different world. For some women these men are among the first to show them any kind of affection, even if it's fake.
