You are barking at the wrong tree, Ladies

Dear Dr Pipes, the women who complain that their Middle Eastern husbands or boyfriends married them for money or green cards are barking at the wrong tree. When some one marries you for selfish gains, that is a very minor issue. People of all nationalities can be selfish and greedy. And there is no reason to complain if someone marries you for money and not love. It is bad but it happens all the time. Be careful and grow up.

What these women should be really concerned about is that a typical Muslim man has no respect for their individuality and human rights. He can force them to wrap themselves in different kinds of dresses while he walks freely as a cool dude. He can conveniently demand that they should convert to Islam but he will not even consider the virtues of their religion and think about converting himself. And, even worse, he will require their children to be raised as Muslims even if he allows them to keep their original faith (as if their faith is a useless thing for them!). And, of course, he would fully believe that while the West needs to be democratic, his own country has no obligation to ensure proper rights to all her citizens.

So, dear sisters, if your only concern is just money and green card, do not even worry. Worry about things that indicate hypocrisy on the part of Islamic culture/religion. Why is it so difficult to understand?
