Two more weeks...

I have been with my Algerian partner for 1 year and 7 months. I really am head over heals and also, sadly, quite vunerable. When we met I had not long got out of hospital for mental illness...

Our relationship is somewhat chaotic, at first there was too many drinks and he used to steal things and wound up in jail. He is now getting out and deported. And I've just booked my visa to go too.

My family are worried because in the past he has hit me, hurt my quite badly in fact, and is EXTREMELY jealous. I put up with it though. He also mentally belittles me, but still, I put up with it.

Now he tells me when I get to Algeria and swear on the Koran he will change his ways. But I fear so much about three things:
1. Him cheating on me (they are after all allowed multiple wives)
2. Raising children with him
3. Am I wasting my time?

I desperately need advice.
I know how dumb I sound, but I love him and care for him - he's had a hard life too - and when I look in to his eyes nothing else matters.
