I had been living in Houston in a hotel room for a job, and I didn't really know anyone there, so I took to the internet to try to meet new people and supplement my loneliness. He came to me and made me feel like I wasn't alone in such a big place. He was someone wanted to be there to talk to me all throughout the day. He was constantly communicating with me and filling a space that I had in my life at that point in time.

At first, he was a really sweet and gentle and curious person, whose life really seemed like an adventure, and I envied that. He said he was college educated and serious about finding a woman who wanted a good man to take care of her. Who doesn't want that? It's just a shame that, in reality, they become a lot more like our own personal parasites than our partners.

I remember an illustration I saw at one point that depicted a skeletal man entangled with his woman, but her body was literally fused to him and it went on to say that it represented a woman giving her all to a man who could give her nothing in return. I related to that image a lot because I remember that was the exact same feeling I started to have with him after a while. Always full of promises to help with things, but nothing ever happened.
