Well, my friend is going to Morocco the end of July for 4 weeks!!! I have posted about her on here a time or two and it appears that you all agree that she is very likely the perfect victim of a scam. She totally trusts this man, he offers to introduce her to the parents and siblings, they will have separate hotel rooms in Casablanca (not his home town of Objudia (SP), and he has promised there will be no sex until they are married.

I was stunned to hear her say that they have gotten so far as to be talking marriage which will NOT happen in Morocco, but here in US! I am unsure if she realizes that she will have to guarantee his support for 10 years! This is correct right?? He is supposedly (and very well could be) an English language teacher in his home town, but we live here in a small rural area where there would be NO employment other than the barest minimum for him. She owns a home and I'm very afraid he will think up something 'they could do together for $$) like open an antique store since she is a compulsive buyer of stuff. It is frightening to me, but she just shrugs it all off if I try to tell her any of this.

I have traveled abroad fairly extensively so am going to tell her to keep her passport on her at all times, her money on her at all times, never leave it in the hotel, choose her OWN hotel, and be wary. Oh, I told her she might have to cover her hair..it's long, blonde and beautiful and naturally Zachariae is most enchanted by it..so she says no way! I'm thinking that's probably not a good attitude?? She has no clue! Oh yeah another convenient thing, he's divorced as he caught his wife cheating and packed her up and paid her father to take her back. Funny I bet the told my friend that after he found out that she is divorced because her X cheated on her. Just too coincidental for me. She is 60, he is 34 so that's a huge red flag to me and she's just flattered and totally in love. I don't know how to say any of this to her because she just turns a deaf ear and if offended that I could possibly think she would become a victim.

Sorry this is such a ramble, but I'm certainly more worried than she and part of me would like to just let it be, but after reading this page and others I'm even more worried. Thank you.
