I'm with Hope... on being vulnerable

I had been single by choice for 2 years after a turbulent 6-year relationship with a European - absolutely no relationship whatsoever - when I met this moroccan scammer.

In fact, when I met him and even though it was really exciting, I actually considered if I should get involved with him emotionally. I genuinely wanted to help this person start a new life, help his family - like I would anyone else (albeit not with such a huge amount of money).But we are dealing with scammers who are really smooth and before long I was caught in his web. The amount of money that I was scammed of, was undeniably due to the fact that I loved him and believed we had a future together.

Basically my thoughts are along the same line as Hope's. Even after the initial shock and disbelief and finally slowly accepting that this whole thing was just a fraud and scam, I can't say that I was vulnerable when I met him.
