You are amazingly strong and self possessed for your age. I am in a similar situation somewhat with an Egyptian who is much younger,and even knowing what i do I was still stupid enough to marry him. You are so right when it comes to the religion and culture of Muslims,they never go against family wishes,or very rarely. If they have never lived outside their country and culture,the domination of family is even more concentrated. The mothers decision is paramount to the son when choosing a wife,they prefer young Muslim virgins of their own culture and religion for their sons. Unless you live with it or have some deep knowledge and understanding of the cultural beliefs and the religious,a Westerner cannot fully comprehend or understand ever truly how vast the gulf is,because they believe this is the word of God on how their lives are to be lived from the most minute to important decisions,its staggering to the mind. I truly feel for you and wish you the best,your young enough that someday you will hopefully meet someone else who will give you the love you truly deserve. You sound like such a nice girl,my heart breaks for you because I am still living my own nightmare with mine,who iI love deeply.
