People in successful intercultural relationships can! happen but I would imagine they're out there enjoying themselves since they're secure in what they have. And this applies to any kind of relationship... that annoying couple posting cheesy pictures on social media all day every day are probably not in love, or there's at least some other underlying issue behind closed doors. People that are secure period do not brag and flaunt. Because they have nothing to prove... they simply are. I hate to come off sexist but women that constantly show off their assets usually do so out of insecurity - they believe it's the only thing that will attract positive attention from the opposite sex or that's worth anything. I used to be that girl so I know. Same with men that splash the cash.

This is not Bollywood we're talking about. Everything is about business, even arranged marriages. Love does happen but most of the time it's about what can he/she do for me.

Cynthia, from my time studying these scenarios I've realised that deep down many women in fact *know* what's up. They know something's not right (I mean come on, unless you lived a sheltered life who wouldn't) about their "situationship" but they happily carry on entertaining it... and that's where the woman's underlying issues come into play. Sometimes it's simply that loving, maternal instinct that women have naturally... or sometimes it's actually a deep psychological issue that leads them to put themselves in these high risk, self harming situations.

If your partner isn't making you feel good... if the relationship has made you change into a different person, and for the worst... then that's exactly what it is, a form of self harm. Some of these women need intensive therapy to work through their issues. And I've personally stopped advising certain women on here because I know they won't take it on board, but I know one thing, they will learn the hard way.

Anyway it would be a shame for you to leave. I think you're a strong Italian woman that happened to fall for someone from a different culture, and came out wiser. I don't know if anything fishy is going on on the site but yes coming on here boasting is a bit insensitive.
