Hi, I suppose You have already found out lending money in North Africa is considered a gift. This situation is complicated and the chances of recovering all the money sent are slim because of corruption and the dirham being a non convertable currency. You will need a local solicitor/lawyer and You might spend a lot of money and recover nothing. I can't see which country You are from but I suggest You write to the consular section of Your embassy in Morocco outlining the facts of the scam and asking them to advice You on how to proceed. You will need proof You lent or invested the money and proof of money transfers. Did You sign any papers in Morocco in Arabic or French?

Unfortunately, all cases like Yours I know of are still unresolved...... so prepare Yourself for the worst but let's hope for the best. Good luck and stay calm!
