It's perfectly normal what you are feeling. Of course he will still come to mind but it's important to keep things in perspective. You know he is a rat bastard, but you will remember the better times and I think that's for balance and to preserve our sanity.

Do you have someone who will chat and listen to you while you vent? Of course it will be repetitive, so it has to be a good friend or someone who has been there. It helped me and others whenever we had these weak moments. Keep in mind too, that it has been a short time and your wounds are still open. It does take a few years to really get over it.
