Whoops! I didn't read this comment before I replied to your previous one. Thank you. I think this thread is really important and I am happy it is here really because so many women don't have a happy ending like I did. I had a fascination with the Middle East since my teenage years and I knew exactly what to expect based on my own studies and travels, but the lifestyle is not for everyone by any means.

In fact, reading some of these stories has even inspired me to try to set up some program or online company in Egypt to vet men who are going after these western women...for example, women could reach out and provide the names, online profiles, screenshots of whatever info they have and I or a counterpart could try to get information on the man and his family and the man himself to see if anything he says is true; we could get a decoy to talk with him to see if he is faithful, etc.

I did a lot of that investigative work on my own before I made my decision and I am so glad I did, but it would be nice to help other women who are facing these choices.
