i so enjoyed reading this womans tongue in cheek essay on Egyptian men because she so perfectly points out their character flaws and societal attitudes for place of women and men in Egyptian society ,plus the truly disturbing inter relationship between mother and son which i find truly disturbing over here,it borders on almost incestual,to me it is abnormal and unhealthy. Children are to be loved and cherished and looked after until adulthood,then given freedom to become independent ,self thinking adults. in our society. Parents should be loved ,honoured ,respected,but not to the point of blind obsession that you constantly need ,want or seek their approval and do what ever they tell you to as an adult. A man is or woman is supposed to when they marry give love and respect to the one they marry,while still giving the same to parents. This thing of never being quite equal to momma is scary,they still like little children seek mommys approval as grown men. So enjoyed this older blog. kudo's to the women who wrote it. If your a foreigner like me,you must have been married to an Egyptian for quite awhile,great insight,mirrors my own thoughts and opinions on what i experience here.
