To Jessica: Moroccans, facebook accounts and free time

Hi Jessica,
For having lived in Morocco and among Moroccans for over 30 years I can tell You:
1) Moroccans We meet online SEEM wayyyyyy more civilised than Algerians for a number of reasons. They are much more exposed to foreigners and know their way around. There is no wellfare or social security help in Morocco like there is in Algeria so they can't lazy around and waist a good visa/money lead. Their country is less overcrowded and islamized for the moment. Many are illiterate and can not correspond on the net easily. There are less young people in Morocco than there are in Algeria because of lower fertility rates in the past 30 years. More women fall for them and trust them as they are greasier than Egyptians and Algerians and do not push religion and sex as the former do. They seem more relaxed and sure of themselves and my impression is they are less jelous in real life as in Morocco there are enough women. In Algeria and Egypt the men to women ratio is higher. Remember I wrote they SEEM. Once married and brought over the majority sadly changes.

2) Most Moroccans, women and men, have way more than 3 friends in their facebook account. A facebook account with just 3 friends is a HUGE red flag. Most of my Moroccan friends have 3+ facebook accounts and they are decent people with papers to stay in France. I myself have 2 accounts as I do not wish to publicize all my activity. I feel 100% confident Your Mohamed is like any other shop owner there - looking for a better life wherever he could find it. Many men have an account for only family with no picture visible to outsiders and sometimes name spelled a bit differently - Mahomet, Muhammad and so on. Some have 4-5 mobile phones with different identities in each one. It is not uncommon for a girlfriend to never find out about their chats with other girls.

3) Shops do not pay that well hence the 10 hour a day. The money they spend on a girlfriend may come from family abroad or bezness with other women. Many shopkeepers chat to girls in their time in the shop. If he is really well off the family finds a local virgin and much younger bride. A woman who dates and is a girlfriend never has a chance to stay for long with the man, even if the family pretends to accept her for a while.

Most MENA men are very nice when courting and before marriage and visa. If You do not believe me You can always ask ladies who were married to a Moroccan or other North Africans. There are horrific stories of abuse and violence all over the newspapers here. Be carefull! Good luck
