What's Going On---A Theory

Hi Chelsea:

First, I can confirm what Dr. Pipes has said. Been here over 10 years now. That's how it's run.

Second, what is going is that there are a couple of folks lately who have been "pushing the norm" as I call it. There is nothing really special or unique about it, and it has happened before more than once, and seemingly hasn't ended too well for...one or two (maybe more) of them.

But if you really look at the folks who do this, it doesn't mean what they have is real or genuine. They do get a lot of people who read and post on here convinced what they have is real because they write really long essays and get really upset if you dare to question their "love". That in and of itself is enough for some to make the excuse if they are on the fence to go with it.

This same old song and dance has been played long before this forum, and most of the people who brag about their relationships (MY Mohammed ect) really seem to care a lot what we think. And really, what good, solid relationship has the time for that?

There's also folks, I'm sure, who wait around here hovering like vultures waiting regular posters like myself or Lina to make a mistake so they have a scant excuse to keep these scandals and scams going.

Just keep in mind that even if people are posting a lot about "good" stories, their claims and the volume of their posting doesn't mean they are good. Some folks may have caught on to my comments that there isn't going to ever be a natural balance between good and bad stories and are hoping to even the odds if they haven't been scammed yet.

But I find that to be a useless effort because in the last 10 years all of the bad stories keep rolling in like pieces on an assembly line and I'd say most of the people who just read (lurkers) are in the same boat and know it.

I would suspect, Chelsea, that those who brag about their relationships on-line maybe waiting to chat their partner who has a status of busy or hold on the chat program.....and possibly even talking to another woman while they are on here defending him!
