UPDATE ON TRIP TO EGYPTReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Luhx Marghany, Jan 9, 2017 at 14:34 I have taken awhile to come back but that's only because we are preparing to move into a new condo and things are NUTS. First let me say, a lot of people told me I would HATE Egypt. Well, that could not be further from the truth. His family met us at the airport, and it was amazing! Plus we got to avoid some of the nonsense of going and getting my visa certified (I think you need to visit a embassy or something) because my husband is close friends with people who can get that done for you. So we were given our papers, taken past all the stuff regular people have to do when they arrive (thank god because I couldn't stand waiting in those lines, holllyyyy cow) When we got to his parents villa they had set up these beautiful balloons that had our names on it. Then proceeded the gifts. So many gifts. I have actually put a lot of the photos of my trip on my album Egypt and Family on my facebook, so if anyone is curious they can go there. The best part of the entire trip was just spending time with his family. They all live near each other and so everyone is always around, especially the kids. It was amazing to wake up and just be surrounded by so much happiness and love. I was adopted and never close with any family honestly, so to me this was the best experience of my life. His family was amazing, we stayed in his parents Villa and I got to his and his families which are all close to each other. The villa was... stunning. I took pictures of that as well because I felt like I was in a movie, lol. It seemed like every single day his mother and father would give me a gift of jewelry. Lots of gold, and silver, some diamond necklace stuff. They know I don't wear much jewelry and even went to the trouble to getting things that I actually LOVE. We spent most of the days drinking tea on the balconies, garden or roof. Then the night started around 9 or 10. We would go out to the city which was about thirty minutes or less from the compound. We had dinner on the Nile. Saw the pyramids of course. The best part was we got entry into the military base where they train the Arabian horses because my husbands good friend is a general in the police/military. So I have pictures of that as well. They had the other guys serve us whatever we wanted and we got to the ride the horses!!! It was the best day by far because I love horses. My husband was only worried/annoyed at the fact that I could NOT stop playing with the dogs and cats. He thought I would catch something. I ended up adopting a kitten named Carl there, who now lives in his parents garden. Everyday he would come and get food from us. His mom is still sending me pictures and feeding him. His picture is in my album too. I COULD LIVE THERE. Easily. My life there would be so much better. We had a driver, and of course they have their servants (that was weird to get used to) but it was really weird when the driver took me and my young niece to the biggest mall near us and waited in the car the whole time we shopped!!! He just would sit there listening to music and stuff. It was so strange. I'd be happy to answer any questions. His parents are coming here in a couple months to visit for a month and then we will be going back towards November again. My husband was happy I liked it, and is hoping after our second visit (we will go to sharm and more tourist places) that we can decide if I am ready to move there, but honestly... I'm ready right now. Haha! But he said I need more time to get to the know Egypt. If you want to see the pictures just add me on facebook. Luhx Marghany = ) I will continue to share our progress as a married couple. As of now, two years married. Two years and nine months knowing each other.
