I to am married to an Egyptian Ihad previously been involved in an online relationship with one which lasted 6 months until I finally ended it after to much emotional trauma from him.I knew if it was like this purely online what would it be like in person.

I went to Egypt for a while and met a man from Aswan who was charming.intelligent and attractive. I later found out he had another side. I am a very attractive middle aged woman with a degree in psychology and independent means.The men have been younger and in Egypt the age difference is a big thing for the culture.Younger men with older women is very frowned upon,ONLY IN RESORT CITIES LIKE Sharm El Sheik or Hurghada is it quite common. Some are purely men with women for monetary gain some actually are real relationships. I was introduced to my husband by a mutual friend from Cairo when I was staying in Hurghgada for awhile. It was love,lust,etc. from the start.

From the moment we met their was a chemistry and we spent every evening together after he finished work. He asked me to marry him in just a few weeks of dating because he could not continue to sleep with me otherwise. So we did the ORFI and have been together 4 months and planning on the civil shortly. But like you from the moment we married my charming,gorgeous husband changed.From someone I thought was somewhat modern from his relationships with europeans and australians and north americans.now i feel like i am with a stranger and one moment i am happy the next very stressed and depressed ,plus he earns little in tourism driven industry here,

so i have provided large sums to help us out. He hates this ,accepts the help but i can see resents it and is embarrassed that some people may think he married an older women with money purely for the money.He stresses over this and makes me feel guilty and unappreciated,he married me knowing the differences. His father knows about me,but not the mother,she is seriously ill and he or father will not mention it unless she improves in health. He fanilly admitted he cannot introduce me to colleagues at work,because he is in management and some know he married an older woman with money,and he feels that this could make him look bad for promotion in the company.How he figures this or if it could I have no ideal.Egypt is very weird about somethings.

Even though we live in Hurghada where you see lots of younger men with older women.So my advice to anyone dating an Egyptian man,especially a younger one be very careful. They are charming,good looking,etc, but can be deceitful and evasive and never like to bec wrong or proved to be so. Marry one at your own discretion but with eye's wide open and your heart protedted.
