Dear New Life,

I felt sympathy towards you ever since I read your earlier comments. Now, after learning about your sad experience, I'm again asking myself the same old question... How would anyone want to hurt a person like you.

This is my guess. I think these visa hunters have it all planned before even appointing their victims. They are so blinded with self interest, they don't really care whom they sacrify to achieve their goal. Your ex must have been purposely resisting attachment (or maybe only admitting to it) knowing that marriage was not his final destination. That would explain his lack of conscience, the family's odd coldness and now the bad relation with children. In my opinion, he will do anything to avoid facing the truth about himself or any self doubt at all. I hope you find these harsh words healing, because I believe there was nothing you could have done to change the course of events.

Anger could be an effective fuel in your situation. It's admirable you chose much more positive force: the love for your children. If there is a problem with child support - accept it. It will only secure your custody rights. Your children will eventually form their own relations with father. For their sake it's best if you don't try to influence their minds. I can feel you will do just fine on your own. Angels protect those who care for children in a very special way :)
