But since you've already charged his mother (!), you actually owe them the visa now. In order to close the deal you will have to upgrade his status to fiancé, which will cause farther legal obligations. He will remain your responsibility even if he arrives to Canada without your knowledge. Do you realize that? Well, good for him. On the black market marrying a stranger for papers costs about ten times the amount you agreed to. I guess the total price includes hospital bills and such.

So answering your initial question: yes, you should go to Morocco and verify your revelations before bringing Romeo home to your daughters. And don't forget to count these fridges and ACs while visiting Taounate :)
