Is this marriage recognised in UK as legal

I English girl married Egyptian man in Alexandria notarization office ministry of justice there and had 2 male witnesses and haven't clue if Orfi or not. I was informed by translator not legal but am now thinking genuine UK recognised marriage as cert has been sent to British embassy in Cairo has eagle stamps lots on the documents .it also states official contract of marriage on the Islamic sharia. I am wondering if anyone can advise as I want to divorce him and be rid of abusive man
