Yeah, the glib platitudes like "living for the moment, nothing lasts forever, 'tis better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all," are all well and good until it's time to actually deal with the aftermath. Some of which you could not have foreseen, despite being too clever all along to get *too* attached to the outcome.

It wasn't my first time at the visa-cowboy rodeo, so to speak, and I thought I knew better.

The ladies here who were smart enough to drop it before getting swept too far along, you dodged a major bullet. It hurts to say goodbye while its still in the days of wine and roses, but you are far better for it in the longer run.
