Your comments on this website I find quite flippant. It is easy to say live in the moment, don't think negative thoughts, these men make you feel loved for some time BUT that is not what it is all about. You are talking to women who have entered into what they thought were genuine possible lifelong relationships for whatever reason and have been used, abused and some who have lost substantial amounts of money which may affect the rest of their lives.

Yes! your attitude to life maybe different, we can all live the lives we want, be free, enjoy the moment and walk away with happy memories BUT again these woman have been severely traumatised by what has happened to them. When you have met someone and their family who you later find out has been in on the plan to scam you for financial reasons / visa / sex etc it is not easy to deal with and makes you question your whole being, whether you can judge people correctly, trust people going forward and this has lasting implications on you as a person now and in the future. Throw away comments are not helpful, these are real life situations that cause a tremendous heartbreak whatever age we are, however naive people may think we are / have been (and believe me we are not!) - these men are professional, fraudsters and leave a path of devastation behind. It is not easy.

The deceit and betrayal is horrendous to deal with obviously affects people differently depending how strong they are, it is a long road to recovery. Please be more sympathetic in your comments, the stories on here are real stories and some are heartbreaking to read. It is a support network to help people who are questioning certain (supposed) relationships they are in now and also to advise in the aftermath of some terrible experiences - women should not have to endure this. We do not have happy memories or feel loved for some time because of how we have been treated and how the final ending transpires and normally that is very ugly even if we have not been abused within the relationship it concludes as abuse when it ends. Everyone can live in the present but life is really one large insurance policy and we have to protect ourselves in every situation as best we can.
