I am a British Man, I married an Egyptian Doctor working in the UK.
Once she became an NHS consultant and attained a British passport we had our first Daughter and moved to Dubai for two years to put together a decent amount of savings. We then used a chunk of this money to build two villas and two four storey apartment buildings in Cairo.
I now manage the rental business and she runs a free clinic for the poor whilst lecturing at Cairo University.

I'm telling this story to counterbalance some of the horror stories however if you're planning on marrying somebody and you're searching out posts like this then you really shouldn't be getting married at all. The majority of people in Egypt are impoverished - it's a developing nation. Many of the women discussing their Egyptian spouse horror stories seem to have suspended their disbelief and lost all common sense.

In short - if it looks too good to be true then it is. If you're a plain Jane type of lady in her late 30s and a young handsome Arab male comes along with tales of his fortune, just how much of your intelligence do you lose not to be able to see the lies? In short adjust your expectations and understand that the Egypt you see on holiday is not the Egypt you will be living in.
