I was saddened to read your post, it made me cry and I so feel for you! It makes my story in comparison look very tame. I hope in time you recover - know that you did nothing wrong other than fall in love with someone you thought was genuine to find out it was all a lie, an illusion, fraud. These people (the individuals and their so called families who are all in on it!) have no conscience or integrity and are obviously a different breed (narcissists) to us as we would never do such horrible and horrific things to another human being

I struggle with the deceit and betrayal going into my 2nd year of recovery but I feel a hundred times better than I did this time last year - it is that old cliche. I am not sure how far down the line you are but I think your post is so open and honest that it will help others immensely before they embark on such relationships. I was lucky in that I did not lose out financially, thank God, unlike you but we must strive to recover and not be defined by what has happened to us by these evil people. You take care, look after yourself and I truly hope you build a happy future full of peace and happiness going forward. As you said - you made it out alive! You are now free with a clear conscience - they have to live the sad lives that they do. Karma will do the rest.
