Mindset in a scam

Ophelia:

The mindset in a scam is to get you to buy into their nonsense. Saying "I love you" to desperate, need hearts or even just someone looking for love and being open to it is the same tactic discussed on here ad naseum.

In the end, Ophelia, if someone wants to use you for money or a VISA, that's what they are going to do. For all practical purposes, there is no movie or sitcom happy ending where the two fall in love at the end once the scam is revealed and it was what brought them together in the first place.

The scammer, once he/she gets what he/she wants, will either leave or be very unhappy and look for a clear out of the situation.

In a lot of cases (if not all of them), the scammer knows the relationship will be a sham before they even start a romantic relationship.

So as far happy endings and falling in love over this, well, it's not definitely black and white, but in the end in some of the testimonies on-line, it's very clear that the man is more loyal to his culture and beliefs than an older foreign woman who may be old enough to be his mother.

I think what gets overlooked a lot too is that even if it's not a scam, he still may choose his family's wishes and culture over you.

Ophelia, you already have doubts about this. Dump him and get on with your life!
