First why not ask him and see the reaction, do your own investigating if he's married in the states you can find out, place to start is the probate court where he resides, that info is public records and you can get it online in many cases.

The one I was unfortunately involved with had a wife in Algeria, of course he lied and said he was single I found out by talking to people he worked with.
