Egyptian Man, Common LinesReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Straight_Talk_Luigi (United States), Oct 10, 2015 at 17:40 Pippa: It is very rare for an Egyptian man to be divorced. We here in America now just look at divorce as second nature, but to be more or less casually divorced over there is a very big deal, and I would imagine so even more with kids involved. Pursing this is a bad idea. First of all, if you could trust him, Pippa, you would not be on here asking for advice. Secondly, you ask: How will I know? How do I prove this? You really can't, Pippa, unless you catch him in blantant lie. But as you ought to see from some of the stories on here, that isn't even enough to stop some women. They just make excuses and get egg on their face later over this. People sometimes never really know when they break off a relationship. A lot of times, Pippa, it's just a feeling that something is off, and if you need to come on-line and ask us about a long-term relationship and possibly marriage with this man----well, forget it! All bets are off. But don't misunderstand, Pippa, you SHOULD be concerned. Sure, he says NOW he doesn't need a VISA, but he also may change his mind later, hoping that you'll fall for him and cave---or be confused just enough to ahead with it anyways. Most people avoid these situations, Pippa, precisely because it doesn't interest them and there is just too much uncertainty. As I said, divorce in Egypt is frowned upon and he could be lying and still be married to that woman back there. I'm not sure even if I told you to go ahead with it that it would quell all of your doubts, Pippa. It really is best for you to move on and find someone else.
