Successful Stories---Where are They???Reader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Straight_Talk_Luigi (United States), Sep 14, 2015 at 15:10 Hi, I am an American also 35 years old and married to a younger Moroccan man. That's a red flag. We had been engaged for more than two years. While quick marriage is bad, long engagements aren't the best either. If this were to a Western man, it would be a huge warning sign. I'm not sure this is any better here. The fact is YOU and ONLY you have to decide how you feel about this man. First of all, Anissa it's more than just about feelings, it's about using your head (logic). Second, if people didn't need help, they wouldn't be on here asking about it, which is another red flag. There may be younger or prettier or more petite, speak his language, etc etc. The fact is that for every one of these advice against stories there are more that are successful. So then were are all of these successful stories? Could you please show us, Anissa? If he professed love early and marriage and you were warned that this is typical scam. Also be warned that despite liberal appearances, Morocco is a conservative country in regards to courting and social etiquette. Good advice here. You should be offended if he doesn't ask your opinion on marriage towards him. Is this what happened to you? Because if so, it sounds like you didn't discuss marriage with him. Did you just go along with it and not interject your own thoughts? Talk about plans but know that they don't believe all plans will work out the way you intend. Get to know him truly. Angry, jealous, happy, sad, depressed, frustrated, hopeless etc. Anissa, there's one positive emotion in there and the rest are pretty much negative. Why is that and why did you write it that? Were those the first things that came to mind in your relationship? How does he show love? Just by calling with compliments? Or does he remember your work your family your friends you life without prompts? That may not make any difference. I've seen the "I want to talk to your family/friends and/or meet them" routine before. It doesn't mean the relationship is good or on solid ground. Concern for your future with him? If you feel comfortable and feel you can trust him and you don't have to bankroll his life there, do what you feel happy. Anissa, people who trust their partner don't need on-line advice from anonymous third-parties as to whether or not their relationship is real. What harm can it do with a 55 percent divorce rate in western countries and much lower everywhere else? No matter what your culture, your religion, your beliefs, there are users abusers among all groups that form humanity. So because other people are abusers, that makes this okay? I wish I had an euro every time someone on here said that. By the way, Anissa would you be saying that if it were a balding, pot-bellied man of your own religion, country and race? Or are these excuses only good for younger, foreign men? You only live once and no matter how careful you step, you will trip or fall in a hole no matter what, it's up to This kind of thinking, Anissa, is EXACTLY why so many women get into trouble with this. "you only live once..." meaning what? That you've just got to cast to aside your feminine instincts and common sense or risk losing a younger, handsome foreign man you can show off to your friends and/or make yourself feel better about? you to decide how much it (problems, nosy people, opposing minds, etc) will slow you down. Good luck! Nosy people, huh? How is it nosy to respond when someone comes on-line and asks for help on a public forum? Also, if your marriage is so great and good, why are you looking up this information on-line? You need to consider if your marriage was even real to begin with, considering these red flags, Anissa.
