Sharing in the misery

So true. I married a Palestinian five years ago and I hate my life. He controls all and I have no freedom whatsoever. He even tells me when its appropriate for me to take the kids to the doctor. If he thinks its too cold even if its 70 degrees, he says I cannot go anywhere. If its raining, I cannot go anywhere . He constantly picks on me about what I eat, what I wear, my background and my intelligence. He's the biggest bully I have ever known.

I haven't been out to do anything fun since him and I first met. I am not allowed to spend one cent without his permission. He expects me not to work but gives me absolutely no money for anything I need. I don't even have underwear or socks. I haven't bought a pair of shoes in a year.

As of late, I have been going to therapy and taking medication to deal with all of this. We have three children together, one boy and two girls. I'm allowed to smoke but not allowed to drink. I have one friend and she is in a similar situation, she married an Arab but he treats her like gold. He monitors how much I smoke.
