I married an an abusive Egyptian

I was stuck in a horrible, abusive Egyptian man for 17 years. He was a smart one. Slick, charming (but not overly so), appeared to everyone around him to be a 'gentle giant.' Turns out he withheld sex from me for years, financially abused me, emotionally tore me down to nothing, locked me in the garage, etc. etc. I will probably never recover from the effects of this horrible man in my life. I try not to be racist but it is so difficult especially since I know he learned alot of the abusive techniques from his father who is also 100 percent Egyptian. I do realize, however, that there are abusive men in every race/culture around the world. I am so saddened and broke by this. I just pray to God that I can recover. I also pray for other victims around the world every day. It (abuse and all its ripple effects) is one of the most horrific things on earth.
