Thank you for writing about your Algerian husband. My boyfriend of about two years is in Algeria trying to get a visa. We both met in Ireland when there and he was working. He is a teacher and studying for his 'masters'.

The only real problem I have with him is that he does not send me news of what he is doing while I tell him lots of news about my life. He is very romantic, and kind and loving, but when I ask about his life what he is doing, he talks about other things. It winds me up and wonder if this is a national characeristic. He comes from a normal working class family, and wonder if I will be treated as equal by him. It can happen inequality in this country, but is it more so there. We are both so much in love.

Hoping I can make a friend here who has been through all the hassle that loving a 'foreigner' can bring.
