Excellent points as usual, Isis.

I would just add though that one of the pitfalls with on-line dating is that you really don't get to know each other well unless you are also able to see each other in person.

I also agree that (obviously) not all men from Egypt are liars and scammers.

But my hunch with Jennifer, who I believe has posted on here before and said the same thing about her husband not wanting to leave Egypt, is that maybe the issue of where they would live, perhaps among other things, was not adequately discussed before the marriage.

It's possible that she assumed they would leave Egypt eventually and maybe he assumed they would stay.

It's not too hard to cross wires like in on-line relationships.

She also mentioned meeting the guy in an art group. I would say that is much better than latching onto the first guy who messages a woman on skype (I think people on here like to name this because it allows for a video exchange which I suppose improves things but still really isn't a substitute to meeting in person).

My concern is that is Jennifer appears to be looking to resolve this and other issues with on-line advice and responding to posts like Hamids.

My suppostiton is that what is needed in her situation is some kind of counseling or at least a discussion on how it got to this point and what she and her husband need to do to resolve this.
