The Dilemma of International, On-line Dating

I can understand why you like him, but here's what you need to understand about on-line dating.

First, you're never going to be sure by just talking on-line.

Second, they usually don't directly ask for money; they tend to create situations to make you feel obligated to give and make the offer yourself.

Third, the reference to artistic or any other interest for that matter, has no real bearing on the validity of the relationship.

Fourth, they always say they that kind of smushy pillow talk stuff.

International, on-line dating is mostly a waste of time. There's a lot of deception that goes on and there's always the chance someone is after a VISA.

What you have to reconcile here is that you'll never be sure unless you two can see each other, and traveling alone to the Third World for a teenager can be hazardous in more ways than one, especially if you are going to meet someone specific. I'm not sure if you understand that doing that is a lot different than just visiting the country on holiday, and I certainly cannot endorse someone your age going over there alone like that. I'd be advising you to follow precautions even if you were meeting someone in your hometown.

This relationship is not a good idea and you both would be better off finding partners in person in your own countries. I see a red flag that he's looking on-line, internationally and talking to presumably a non-Muslim as there are plenty of good Moroccan Muslim girls. Sometimes, people want something different or out there so bad they are going to go to great lengths to get it, other times it's a deceitful scam.

The silver lining here is that you are at least asking the question, which given how you feel cannot possibly be easy. That puts you more ahead on the curve.

Trouble is it doesn't work a lot of the time as evidenced by this board. As a guy, let me tell you it's a lot easier for men to talk (and lie) to women on-line or over the phone than in person. You are always at a disadvantage because of that.
