Married an Algerian - BIG MISTAKE

I read your article and exactly what happened to you happened to me. I live alone now since 4 years as I am so scared to meet someone like him again. It was like I lived in hell with name calling, insults about my body, called prostitute, bitch, constantly put me down. He would be nasty if he didnt get his way and walk out with his briefcase which contained his Algerian Passport and he would take his laptop computer. He would be gone for days, weeks and when he fancied returning home, he would just come back expecting everything to be the same like nothing happened.

This went on for years and then one day, i just decided that I was not going to accept him to come back anymore. I was a very insecure person when I knew him and he knew this and played on it to the maximum. He was always trying to make me feel the guilty one and always putting the blame on to me for everything. Now I have not lived with him for over 4 years, I am much clearer in my head, my self esteem has gone right up and I am very secure now in myself. With him going in and out all the time, he did not realise that he made me much stronger in myself to stand on my own two feet. I had to thank him for that even though this was not his intention at all.
