Gem on UK Resident, Egyptian Man

We are the same age, he is a UK Resident, We have met occasionally and chat over Skype.

The more you meet someone in person, the better you can get a feel for them. Another reason why international, on-line dating results in abysmal failures.

I do not even think from what he say that he is in this relationship if you can call it that it seem s all one sided and from my guess he finds it hard to get away as she helped him when he wa s at his lowest and feels this will hurt her considering she is in love with him but he is not with her.

You've probably heard the phrase "love hurts". A possibility here is that he wants her around in his back-pocket as a future wife but wants to fool around with you first.

There's a lot of drama here, and I wonder if you'd put up with a guy with this kind of baggage if he were British.

He feels if he does this then she will try to kill herself again as she has before, I know for a fact this is not easy as my ex was like it.

Too much drama. Again, if someone threatens their live like this, call the police. Don't be blackmailed and don't indulge them.

BUt again just shows how low people are to suddenly stereo type because egyptian man was mentioned when this can happen in every day life, ...

I don't see how it shows that at all.

First of all, I don't know who you are talking about that is "stereotyping". These non-specific references are not useful.

Secondly, the fact that he is Egyptian is irrelevant as far as innate scamming goes. Being an Egyptian doesn't automatically make a person a scammer or a liar. The only exception is your and his cultural differences which can be an obstacle even with honesty.

However, the fact that he is a UK resident and not a citizen, that's something to be wary of, Egyptian, Russian, Martian or whatever.

Third, it can and does happen in everyday life and guess what-----it involves people from all over the world.

The problem is when and if you use "because he's Egyptian" as an excuse.

Depends on what you mean.

I often see it more as an excuse to continue on a relationship that you know isn't that great or that you're not secure about and end up taking that frustration out on other people on the internet.

I've already said several times that not all Muslim men are bad, but people prefer and will marry someone of their own culture, country and religion. The raw numbers confirm that.

But you need to understand people leave relationships for all sorts of reasons all the time.

Usually it's the women who call it off from what I've seen with relationships in general.

With international, on-line dating, it just isn't worth the hassle, risk and expenditure for a lot of people.

And some people have really got burned on them, and if it were to happen to you, you'd probably have a dimmer view as well---and rightly so.
