Zahra, first of all I hope this man is sincere and would of course like for you to live a happy life in Morocco. But I just think you need to be careful and not believe everything he says. As I said he could be decent, but there are a few things I don't like the sound of - first of all the fact that he claims to have no parents. This seems like an excuse to prevent you from meeting them. Did you ask him what happened to his parents? To me 24 seems like a very young age to lose them. Also the fact that he's 24 could mean that he's already married. If he's from Marrakesh he's probably Berber. Berbers get married quite young and arranged marriages are common, with the wife being hidden from view. If you're happy to share him with another woman that's your prerogative. Does he work as a chef at the hotel, or as something else?

I will tell you my story. I'm half Moroccan and I also fell for a guy from Marrakesh. He was, and I still think he is, a good person. He's educated, with a strong work ethic. He met my parents but he also lied to their faces about his feelings for me. He claimed he told his mother about me, true or not I don't know but she could've disapproved and that's all it takes. He tried to get me to rush back to see him. I needed more time to think about it and a few months later I saw pictures of wedding rings and a baby boy on his Facebook. He is still chasing me and flirting with other girls, and wants to see me again when I go back this year. I thought, how could he do all this now that (I presume) he's married with a kid? Then I realised that the culture is completely different and that marriage doesn't mean the same thing as it does in England. I also realised that I was more in love with Morocco, its warmth and hospitality, than with the man himself. If I could marry the country I would haha. I wanted to escape dreary England and lead a traditional life. If you want to do that, there's nothing wrong with that and I wish you the best.

There are many good, monogamous Moroccan men that will make your life whole, but they are very hard to find, like diamonds amongst rubble.

I just think you should take your time. A lot of the women on here find that their man changes as time goes by. Some are very patient. I'm not saying he's a bad guy, in fact even some gigolos are not terrible people, they're just very poor and do whatever they can to survive. Because we come from the West we don't fully understand. Just take your time and don't rush.
