Zahra, moving to Morocco

Zahra, first of all I can tell that you're quite young, and I can understand your attraction to living in Morocco - it's a beautiful country to visit and the people very welcoming. And meeting a handsome Moroccan man on holiday tops it off. It's also my dream to live there. However, it is a completely different experience living there. It's very poor and there is a lot of corruption.

About your relationship, where did you two meet? How old is he? And what does he do? From my experience Moroccan men, especially Berbers, tend to marry other Moroccans. You being a Muslim does help, and he could be a good guy. My only concerns are his early declarations of love and marriage. The tales on this board usually start off the same way. It's not rational no matter where the man is from. Were you a Moroccan girl he would have to pay a high dowry price which would take quite a long time to save, plus he would need the approval of his mother, so even then marriage wouldn't be rushed.

My other concern is whether he's really told his family about you. Don't believe that one until you've met them, because Moroccan men only bring women back if they're serious about them, or are from a low-class, scamming family.

Finally, ask yourself, are you in love with the man or are you in love with Morocco? I'm sure a few women on here will be able to relate ;-)
