Fifi:

Thank you for opening up and sharing. I have a couple of things to note.

"I am so tired of everyone jumping on the Muslim bashing bandwagon, it seems to be the fashion these days."

Well, attacking religion in general in the West seems to be a pastime in and of itself. But not "everyone" is attacking Islam.

For instance, Isis, who is married to a Muslim man, doesn't attack Islam, but she also doesn't sugarcoat things either. "Egypt is Egypt" and "Islam is very much a man's world" she has said. And it's really not a judgement of a religion or nation or culture, it's trying to get women who look at these situations with rosy glasses to see the truth.

I've pointed out many times that some women across the globe are just as bad as the men described on here. I know because I've experience it myself. It's not a pleasant ordeal.

Speaking frankly, Fifi it's important to realize a couple of things on this particular forum.

First, as someone who has been on here for many years, women who have a negative experience with a man may at one point or another blame all men. I'm not saying it's a just position but please understand that a lot of people who come to this site are hurt, upset and confused. I really don't think most of the people who post here regularly in their heart of hearts think ALL Muslim males EVERYWHERE are these evil scammers. They just might not want to come out and say it after being hurt by them.

In fact, a lot of women find themselves in these situations of looking for men abroad because of negative experiences locally or in their own countires. What does that say about some men in places in like the USA, UK, Japan or Ireland?

I think its quite telling actually.

Secondly, if you're looking for an equal balance between good and bad stories on here, you won't find that. Ever. Simply put, people who are good relationships will not spend time defending their relationships to strangers. They don't care what we think and are too busy enjoying each other to worry about that.

I am now a 37 year old woman, who joined a dating website, as I was sick of meeting shallow people in clubs and pubs, especially when I dont drink alcohol.

I find this remark to be important, Fifi, thank you for clarifying! You'll hear "I'm tired of the bar/pub scene" a LOT when asking people why they do on-line dating in the West. I'm not so sure how true it really is and just sounds like a good profile line. In your case, however, you have a good reason to avoid those places.

I understand that it probably wasn't a snap decision for you to post on here and that you had given it some thought. I am glad that you are able to see things to an extent from women who have been hurt on here.
