Becs,

Take away the guy's ethnicity and what you have is your typical controlling partner. Men like that are either insecure or up to no good themselves. Do you want that kind of guy? You're ignoring all the negatives. Of course he's nice in the beginning, maybe in fact the perfect guy! This is to get you reeled in for what's to come.

As a rule, aside from some Copts, Egyptian men are NOT liberal with their women at all. I'm not saying this is a bad thing, but a lot of women get into relationships with these guys and expect to lead an independent Western lifestyle. Now some women do in fact like this sort of relationship, especially if they're not the independent, going out type. And each to their own. But you don't seem like that type of woman, and I don't think anyone should dramatically change to suit their partner. You need to be with someone that will respect you for you.

Only you can answer your own question - what do you want out of life, and what kind of lifestyle do you wish to lead? Just don't settle for whatever is on offer.
